Naihehe Cave is Fiji’s largest cave system. Meaning “a place to get lost”, Naihehe Cave has an incredible background story that will amaze you. One requires a blessing from the priest before entering the cave, lest you lose your way in the labyrinth. Before you enter, your group will be given a headlamp and a little briefing. The guides will whisk you away into an unbelievable journey, which includes a visit to where cannibal tribes used to reside which the cave system.

Another adventure route to explore starts at the foot of Nadi’s famous Mt Batilamu or “Sleeping Giant”. Head up through the fertile Sabeto Valley, which lies to the North of Nadi. At the giants’ “head”, the road becomes a winding track and follows the beautiful Sabeto River, towards the interior of Viti Levu. You can opt to join the Great Sight guide for a 30-40 minutes walk in the forest. This walk ends at a natural cave the villagers use for shelter during cyclones and is situated by a beautiful swimming hole.
On your way to the cave safaris, the journey will open your eyes to the daily lifestyle of Fijians on the island and the villages. Appreciate the Fijian culture and way of life at Navilawa village, where the warmth of Fijians, local entertainment (such as meke performances and kava ceremonies) and great food await.

Enjoy a day cruise
Holidaying in an archipelago without traveling the sea isn’t a complete vacation. Take a day cruise to the South Sea Island. There is a plethora of things to do here on the island. You could swim in the saltwater swimming pool for a change. Maybe try your hands at sailing, or kayaking. Or just chill and get a good sun tan going in a hammock or a beach chair as you sip your coconut juice. It is a tiny island, but you’ll definitely enjoy your day. Lunch is an incredible feast and there are performances to entertain you as you dine by the beach.

Enjoy Fiji’s national drink
Fiji’s national drink is something everyone enjoys together and is a big part of their daily lives. Kava, as it is known, has a slight sedative effect that relaxes you. Due to its immense popularity, you’re bound to be offered some at your resort of at a local village. Great importance is placed on how kava is drunk, and your lips and tongue will tingle and feel a little numb thereafter. A bona fide Fiji experience!

Imagine the possibilities when you don’t have to queue for hours to enjoy what you love to do on a holiday. That, and the incredible sun, sand and sea makes this beautiful island an appealing escapade.
